KOTA BARU: PAS has challenged the Opposition to formulate a plan to tackle the Covid-19 pandemic instead of accusing the government of incompetence and blaming it for a surge in new cases.
In a statement today, PAS Youth deputy chief Ahmad Fadhli also took a jab at Pakatan Harapan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim over his plan to form a new government.
"I have read many reports about Opposition leaders who like to point fingers at the government for the rise in Covid-19 cases in the country, many of which are linked to Sabah, where a state election was recently held.
"They have been making allegations against the government under the leadership of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, and claim that the Prime Minister is responsible for the recent increase in cases.
"PAS would like to suggest that the opposition draw up a special plan instead of dreaming of having an audience with the Yang di-Pertuan Agong," he said.
Ahmad, who is also Pasir Mas Member of Parliament, said the people are wondering whether the Opposition could come out with such a plan.
"These leaders do not realise that the government has managed to keep infection numbers at a minimum. And without a modicum of decency, the Opposition is working to incite hatred against the government."
Ahmad also alleged that the Opposition had pushed for the Sabah state election to take place despite the pandemic.
